Coffee Center DCC-3200 Review 2020
The Cuisinart Coffee Center line has several highly successful models. This includes the Cuisinart DCC-3200 model which has been a top seller, multi-award winner and is an “Amazon Choice” winner. This includes a Cuisinart DCC-3200 review, Cuisinart DCC-3400 review and a look at the BKS finish. All three got our recommendation for great brewing, value and usability at a very reasonable price.
The Cuisinart coffee maker DCC 3200 is a 14 cup, programmable, automatic drip coffee system. We also will look at the Cuisinart DCC-3400 Thermal Coffeemaker which is a version of the DCC 3200 that has a 12-cup thermal coffee carafe.
DCC-3200 Model Has Excellent Brewing and PerfectTemp System
Cuisinart’s Coffee Center line has very good drip brewing technology for this price class. It brews quickly but not so fast that the quality is impacted. They have put a lot of research and science into their brewing technology and that delivers a great brew across different bean origins, roasts and oiliness levels. So, experiment with a lot of different types of coffee and your DCC-3200 model will deliver.
The DCC 3200 has a built-in technology that delivers hotter coffee. Cuisinart calls this their “PerfectTemp” system. It does this carefully without sacrificing the flavor or quality. You will want to experiment because not all beans will respond to this the same way.
The Cuisinart DCC-3200 Controls and Usability
The DCC 3200 has pretty nice controls. It has a backlit LCD display with buttons for programming the personalized settings, on/off, the number of cups and cleaning mode. It isn’t cutting edge, but it gets the job done and, for the price, is easy to read and use. It has a ready tone which can be turned off if you don’t like it. All this was true of our DCC-3400 review as well.
It has their “extreme brew” setting, strength control and the ability to pause brewing, which is a nice feature. It can be programmed to make a single cup or up to 4 cups or a whole pot. The DCC-3200 also is fully automatic with 24-hour programmability, an excellent self-cleaning system and auto shutoff which can be set for up to 4 hours.
The “keep warm” temperature control is adjustable and does a good job.
Cuisinart DCC-3400 Thermal Coffeemaker
Our Cuisinart DCC-3400 review rated this model the best of the three. The DCC 3400 thermal coffeemaker is the same as the DCC 3200 model but comes with a 12-cup thermal carafe. One thing you will notice is that the DCC 3400 model is only a 12-cup system and not a 14-cup system like the 3200 series coffee center products.
This is because the carafe nests inside the housing on three sides, so to use the same basic design they needed a thermal carafe that is the same size on the outside as the DCC-3200 glass carafes. Since thermal carafe’s are thicker than glass carafes the inside space is 2 cups smaller.
Thermal carafe machines cost more. At less than $90 Cuisinart really did not increased the cost very much over the DCC-3200 model. If you want to look at alterniatives to Cuisinart’s thermal system then look at our Mr. Coffee Thermal Coffee Maker Guide.
Cuisinart DCC-3200 Color Options
The Cuisinart DCC-3200 is the standard 14-cup model with stainless steel accents. It is also available in Sky Blue, Light Grey, White and Gold,
- Copper Finish – Cuisinart DCC-3200CP model
- White Finish – Cuisinart DCC-3200W model
- Black Stainless-Steel Finish DCC-3200BKS
The Cuisinart DCC-3200BKS model is their PerfectTemp coffee maker in black stainless steel. It is very attractive, and we like it more than the other alternative color choices.
DCC 3200 Model Cleaning and Care
This is a snap to keep clean. The removable parts are dishwasher safe and everything else is easy to wipe down. Many coffee makers have unnecessary grooves and ridges that complicate cleaning, but the Cuisinart Coffee Center models are all pretty easy to clean. It has a built-in indicator light that signals when you should decalcify it.

Cuisinart DCC-3400 review
Our Cuisinart DCC-3400 review finds that the thermal carafe version of the DCC 3200 is the best of the lot. Most companies charge too large a premium for the thermal. But Cuisinart offers it for just about $20, one of the lowest premiums we have found. It is the norm for a thermal to have to fit the same size as the glass carafe model and to have two cups smaller capacity. So our DCC 3400 review finds that perfectly acceptable
